DIY ACID WASH JEANS!
So I had a day off today! Finally! I decided to do some laundry and clean my room up a bit. I was going through my closet and found these BDG high wasted black skinny jeans from Urban Outfitters. I washed them too much and they became stretched out and ugly and very faded, so I never wore them anymore. I decided that I wanted to put a little kick into them. I remember seeing a youtube video about how to make acid wash jeans! So I put it to the test. Here is how I did it!
What you will need:
- Bucket
- Bleach
- Gloves
- Rubber bands
I started out by twisting and folding the bottom of my pants, and placing a rubber band around it. Going up each leg making a different twist and fold each time. I used about 14 rubber bands total. Do this until your jeans are in a bundle! I then filled a bucket with water about half way, where I was able to set my jeans half out of water. Before placing my jeans in, I put 3 cups of bleach in. I did this in my bathtub to make sure no bleach spilled anywhere! Also, make sure you are in a well ventilated area. The bleach can really stink up the room.
Then I placed my jeans in and left it for about an hour and a half. I then turned the jeans and placed them on a different side and left them for 45mins. I did it one last time, and left the jeans for 20 mins. The reason I left them at different times, was so I could get a variation of colors in the jeans. You can choose to leave them in for however long you want! Just remember bleach will make your clothes a little frail and delicate, so don't leave em in too long! I then took the rubber bands off and put them in the washer right away! Wearing gloves of course. :) I couldn't wait to try them on that I actually took them out of the dryer early to throw em on still damp! But they came out amazing and I am a very happy girl with my new jeans! :) If you have any questions feel free to comment below and ask!
